Palm's webOS 1.2 update for the Pre didn't launch as expected last week, but is expected to become available sometime during this week. It is reported that a test of a revamped App Catalog is what triggered the delay. "The USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) recently sided with Apple in the dispute and asked Palm to clarify its position."

...They also said that making a firmware that would fix the problem would violate USB-IF rules. By doing it anyway, Palm has shown that they will not be subject to the arbitrary rules made by this group...they will do what they think is best for their company instead. It's nice to see a company take such a stance against monopolistic practices and corrupt groups like USB-IF.

hmm I updated mine there very same day of this article? and my friends at work, weird thing is one friend tried to do it today and cannot get the update?
Anyways go PALM! keep up the updates cuz god knows we need them! lol j/k love my Pre! My iPhone been collecting dust since :-)
