I ran Feurio Cache Test on my two drives so as to setup EAC Drive Options correctly.
I am seeking insight on the outcome of the tests below:
Informations from INQUIRY command:
Manufacturer: PLEXTOR, Product: CD-R PX-W4012A, Version: 1.07
Synchronous data transfer: Not supported
SNIP
Reading device capabilities: OK
Maximum speed: 7056 kByte / second (40.0 times)
Cache size: 4096 kByte
Read CD-RW: Yes
Read Bar code: No
Read UPC code: Yes
Read ISRC code: Yes
Return C2 error pointers: Yes
Read R-W subcodes: Yes
R-W subcode de-interleaved: Yes
Read CD-DA: Yes
Read CD-DA correctly: Yes
SNIP
Result:
Maximum transfer rate: 19481 kBytes/Second

and
Informations from INQUIRY command:
Manufacturer: SONY, Product: DVD RW DRU-710A, Version: BYX5
Synchronous data transfer: Not supported

Reading device capabilities: OK
Maximum speed: 1411 kByte / second (7.9 times)
Cache size: 2048 kByte
Read CD-RW: Yes
Read Bar code: No
Read UPC code: Yes
Read ISRC code: Yes
Return C2 error pointers: Yes

SNIP
Result:
Maximum transfer rate: 21293 kBytes/Second
Cache size for audio data: 860 kByte
It looks to me that both are above the 64kb cache requirement for the EAC cache option.
I have yet to run a C2 test, but the above results say both drive can return C2 pointers.
