im thinking of buying this software and i was wondering if its any good...if any one here has it or used it drop me a note with your review..im using it for editing lps
and 78s..thanks.
Depending on what format your LPs will be in once ripped to the PC, you could likely get away with using Audacity - it is an open source, free audio editing software that is undoubtedly complex enough for your needs.
Sorry, I haven't actually used it; I just thought you might not be aware of a free alternative. Based on what I just read Googling it, it would seem that the going opinion is it is a step up from Audacity.
I've used DART, Nero, Sound Forge and other tools for recording old LPs and tapes; and I found that Sound Forge has a superior pop & click elimination algorithm than any of the others. It offers many more choices in terms of levels of noise reduction, from tape hiss to the clicks common to LPs. I still prefer Nero for the actual recording, proabably because I'm so familiar with it, but I clean up the original recordings with Sound Forge.
