I have a video file that has a display resolution of 1440x1080, but I'm trying to convert it to 1280x720 without ruining the aspect ratio. I know that on playback that the 1440x1080 file plays at 1920x1080, due to the rectangular pixels, but I'm wondering if I have to account for this and re-encode it in Handbrake as 960x720, or if I just put it in as 1280x720. I've never worked with rectangular pixels before, so I have no idea of how they operate under encoding.
