I've converted quite a few HD .mkv files into .mp4 compatible with the 360. This one is giving me a very hard time, however, and I cannot for the life of me figure out why. I've compared the following information (copied from MediaInfo) to movies that work fine and everything is comparable. If someone can point out whatever is making this file incompatible with my 360 (and even better, a solution) I would greatly appreciate it!
Just to cover a few bases:
-I've tried my regular way, and I've tried GotSent [GotSent crashes at the end, my computer refuses to be compatible with Mencoder]
-Yes, I have the MediaUpdate, like I said other movies work fine

It's 18.2Mbps. Would those few Mbps make that much of a difference? Is there any way I can change that without completely re-encoding the .h264 file? I can't imagine there is...
The 360 can play a fairly sizable variety of video formats. If I remember correctly, it can only play .h264 files in the .mp4 container, and only stereo .aac can be used with it.
If I wanted it in another format, I would need to re-encode the entire file. Doing that with a 6GB+ file on my computer (P4 and ATI Mobility, unfortunately) would take FOREVER, and it would naturally loose some quality.
I completely understand what you're saying. As I said, I haven't had problems with any .mp4 files (given compatible components) in the past.
I will try your suggestion, and report back. I do appreciate your help, though I can't help but think there may have been some misunderstanding between us.
