Hi, I'm a new to editing and making videos. I'm currently looking for a program that can add text to your videos, and another one where you can simply.

I'm also looking for a easy-to-use video making program as well. Does anyone know any good ones out there?

AviDemux can be used to add text to an AVI.

The text would be in the format of simple text file saved with the .srt extension, EG text.srt

The format is as shown here, a line number, the time on and off then the message:

This is the first message

00:00:06,720 --> 00:00:10,080
This is message two

00:00:12,200 --> 00:00:14,120
Final message

Using the 'Subtitler' filter in AviDemux, the position, colour and font size is selected and the file saved.
