Hello All,

I have a very large collection of M4V files on my iMac that work great for streaming to my Apple TV and other devices. The problem I am having is the audio volume levels seem to be extremely unbalanced between dialogue and background noise or other sounds (particularly action/suspenseful scenes). This results in me having to turn the volume up and down throughout the movie or TV show. I am looking for something to balance the volume out so I can enjoy these files uninterrupted.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me or possible solutions? I was thinking I could extract the audio, normalize it and then join it to the original video file. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Try AVIdemux. You can convert to two channels (if it's not already),
restrict the dynamic range, and normalize.
