Wedding video in HD and SD, best way to combine them?

I have a wedding that was shot with multiple cameras, some high definition and others standard definition. What's the best way to combine these into one fluid video?

I'd like the make the entire video 1920x1080, should I leave the SD alone and make it black letterbox around it or somehow convert the SD to the closest approximation of 1920x1080 and deal with any pixelation or artifacts?
