Where the HELL can I find Windows Movie Maker HD???..please

folks, for the last few days i have been pulling my hair out trying to find Windows Movie Maker HD (version 2.6 for Vista or XP)

I just installed Win 7 and it uses a watered down Windows Movie Maker Live version that no longer easily exports HD WMA conversions.


I just purchased the Sony CX100 HD video cam and this freakin thing uses proprietary .M2TS extensions and I want to create a workflow for creating execptional conversions to another format so I can publish on Youtube or other web sites.

I read that Windows Movie Maker HD allows you to create beautiful HD WMA conversions with little effort and it converts them fast...but I just cant find Windows Movie Maker HD anywhere to download. Any ideas?

According to Microsoft, HD is not available for download (yet).

thanks...i already tried that link...it wasnt helpful. Is there any way i can download the HD version of Microsoft Movie Maker? ( i think its the Vista version 2.6)

Does Windows Movie Maker 2.1 open m2ts files and export to HD WMV files?


If this isnt an option, whats the BEST workflow for converting M2TS video files in their purest HD form and into another useable format that gives crisp results when uploading to the web?

Try turning windows features on or off in control panel.. it could already be installed (bloatware)
