Hello everyone,
I just joined the group and have searched the site for an answer.
I am looking for a way to put several youtube videos on DVD.
I have one that someone made that has about 35 decent quality videos abot 3-4 minutes each on one dvd, but I cannot figure out how they were able to get that many on one DVD.
When I go to youtube and get an flv (about 78 meg) and convert it to avi the size doubles. Also when I rip a "raw" video file from that dvd to test and put it on a blank dvd, the size also doubles.
I was just trying to figure out how they were able to get that many decent quality videos on one DVD. I dont think they are using Dual layer disk.
Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
Please let me know
Thanks

When anything is converted to standard dvd,
it's only the hours and minutes of the source that's a factor,
not the amount of "meg"
During the encoding, the resulting mpeg-2 stream can be either
bigger or small than the source.

Thanks
Is there anyway to encode to get more Youtube videos on one DVD?
Ihave seen some folks get like 50 3-4 minute videos on one DVD that are decent quality.

You should be able to get 40-50 at 4 min each. If you want to sqweeze in more, you need to lower the bitrate, in which case the quality will suffer.
Te quality also depends on the original quality of your downloaded videos. You can try DVD Flick to put all those on a DVD Video.

Should the bitrate adjustment be done at the conversion stage or the burn stage? Also is there a way to take an flv straight from youtube and burn to DVD and be able to play on standard DVD players?

Everything is done while converting.DVD Flick will calculate the optimal bitrate, most likely you'll not be required to adjust it.
Yes, I can use FLV videos from youtube with no problems in DVD Flick. Most videos have an option to download in flv or mp4, I would choose the higher quality.

Thanks for the reply.
I tried DVD Flick before, but was disappointed
at the selection for menus...anyways I appreciate the response.

FLVS are very hard to work with directly. You always have to convert them first to either avi or mp4. You cause avidemux to convert them to avi.
I have done what you are trying to do before. I download youtube videos them make my own compilation to burn to dvd. The problem with dvdflick or convertx2dvd is that they aren't editors.
What I use is womble mpeg video wizard dvd 4.0. You can add as many clips as will fit, add audio fades, so that there won't be a loud distraction between clips. you can cut out sections of the clips. The best part is that you can add a second audio track. You can add and edit mpegs/vobs/mp4/avi all at the same time on the timeline. While adding clips you can preview the video each step of the way, so you can know what the finish video will look and sound like.
