Hey everybody!

I've been using autogk for years now to encode my .VOB files i got from dvd decryptor. I use dvd decryptor to just rip the main movie and i dont split it up into pieces, just one big .VOB

as for autogk settings, i shoot for 100% quality, and those are the only settings i change.

like i said i've been doing it this way for years, so i encoded a file last night and today i go to encode again and i get this error

Quote:
avisynth open failure
evauluate: system exception - Access Violation
X:\DVD TITLE\agk_temp\_.avs, line 7
the name of the window that the error is being displayed in is "Virtual Dub Error"

so i've uninstalled and reinstalled all the files that come with autogk, removed them from the reg and everything. Im still getting the error.

so i went and double checked and followed the guide that is on the main page and i'm still getting the message.

i reinstalled my codec pack even!

any advice gentlemen?

Try ripping with DVDFab HD Decrypter instead and load VTS_01_0.IFO into AGK.

avidemux can convert vob's to avi. You might have to change the framerate setting if it comes out of sync. I've gotten some very good results using the the 2-pass mode x264 codec.

Fairuse wizard can also convert vob's if they are inside an ISO.

Also if other programs won't work, you might have a program installed that is causing problems. I know when I had ultraiso installed, I couldn't convert videos. Windowsblinds can also cause problems. Hard drive corruption will also affect how programs interact with video files. If you are using xp, the video file thumbnail preview shell can cause crashes.

thanks jony, ill give avidemux a try and see if perhaps something with the thumbnails could be causing it.
