Audio Problem With Audacity 1.3 Beta

I'm trying to make a podcast with audacity 1.3. Trouble is it doesn't pick up sound from my logitech headset. I've tried selecting the device on preferences but that doesn't seem to work. Hell I even used a different headset but that didn't work either since it didn't even recognize the headset. If anyone has any experience with this I'd like to know what the problem might be.
