I've ripped some lectures on DVD using AnyDVD to my new netbook. From this forum I downloaded and installed MPCClassic and Home Cinema versions. I now get good video but no sound. I had it yesterday with a codec I found on this site somewhere but this morning a problem forced me to go to a previous recovery point and it's gone.I guess I'm needing a codec but can't figure out which one. Thanks!

Download mediaInfo and drag one of the files into it.
It will list the video and audio codecs that are used by the file.

Thanks for the reply. I tried that yesterday with a utility I saw on this forum starting with a "G" (sorry, can't remember the name) and I couldn't make it work. I have 48 files in this lecture folder and I don't know which one to drag into it. After I tried dragging one file into it I couldn't interpret what it was telling me. It's tough being this dumb!

Are there any tutorials on how to use this utility. Will the G program work as well?

Thanks again!

GSpot.
Drag the file onto the window.
