When playing a 1080p movie in MPC Im getting a lot of pixelation. I'd love to pose a img here to show the problem but I can't post a links as a new user instead you can paste this in your browser I guess.

I thought HD formats were supposed to be better than this? Or maybe Im missing something?

Heres what I know about the movie file.

Im a newb when it comes to understanding the different formats and encoding options etc. But I usually associate key phrases like HD, 1080p, 720p, with more quality than this. Ive tried playing this in MPC and VLR with the same results. Is there anything I can check/change/do to clean this up or is it just the way it is?

Heres system specs if you need them.

CPU: Intel Core2Duo E6750 2.66GHz
Vid: Nvidia Geforce 560Ti

The resolution and bitrate look fine for HD video but this video will only be as good as the source that was used to create it. If a DVD is ripped and re-encoded at 1080p you will not get a blu-ray quality picture.

Download the 'Avatar' Trailer in 1080p and give it go.

If you get the same pixelation it could be a codec or graphics driver issue. Download new ones. If the video plays in all its glory then it is likely your movie that is at fault.
