watching movies via USB ported DVD player, movie stops

So I'm watching the movie from my portable hard drive connected to LG dvd player via usb and around an hour and a half the movie just stops playing. This only happens when the movie file is over 1GB. If it's smaller then that, the entire movie will play. any one ever heard of this problem?

probably the read buffer or something needs to dump and it just quits. bad programming.

i had that problem and apparently half the movie was in divx and half was in xvid.my dvd player supports divx but not xvid.
