CAN'T FIT MY PROJECT ON A DVD!

Hello,

I am having major difficulties trying to put an hour and a half of footage onto a dvd.

I shot 1080p HD on a Sony EX-3. Brought all the footage into FCP and its lentgh is 1:28. I exported as QT and selected the XDCAM HD 1080P VBR setting. The finished MOV was 24GB. The double Layer DVD's I have are only 8.5 GB. I tried to export again as a QT using 720p this time and it still was way to big of a file.

I then tried bringing the 24GB file into compressor using the 150 minute Best Quality but the finished file just opens my DVD studio pro, and thats it.

I really want to keep this it's best quality as possible.

Help!
