I have read threads that touch on this in various ways but which are not specific enough to help me as a total non-tekkie person. I have large ISO files which are Region 2/PAL. I have programs to convert the PAL to NTSC, so no problem there. I would like a relatively simple, cost effective (free is best) way to change the region codes to 1 so that I can burn them onto DVD. I do not want to make them region-free as my DVD player (hooked up to the TV) will not play these. I've made many DVDs from videos that play fine on my DVD player, but this is one problem I don't know how to fix, and the answers I've read have been piece-meal and difficult for me to follow (be kind; I'm a Grandmother). Could some people offer solutions to this that are easily-understood and easy to follow as well as inexpensive?

Not sure what the problem is.
Typically, when a DVD is ripped we say that the 'Region Code is removed' - maybe more accurate to say that all regions are activated.

PgcEdit in the image below opens a rip of Region 1 Master & Commander and clicking on the 'Globe' logo, it shows the regions.
If you want, you can change it to suit - but this is the first time I've heard of a standalone insisting on seeing only one region code.

My ISO's are downloaded, not ripped.
In order to burn to DVD, I must change the region or my player won't accept them.

Just open the ISO with DVD Shrink and process it, if you think that's th problem. I cannot see why anyone would rip a DVD and not remove the region code, probably any ripper does that by default. Ar you sure is not PAL/NTSC issue?

Piss me off, and I Will ignore You!
