I noticed when I rip to ISO it says original is a dark orange and transcoded is a yellow what does it mean by transcoded and does dvdshrink do the transcode as well? cause I like the all in program of clonedvd2 just not if its going to decrease the quality of the video. I mean dvdshrink they look perfect. so my question is does dvdshrink do the transcode as well just not show you its doing it?

Transcode means: encode video and encoding it again. Once a video is store in the Hard Drive in a Digital form; it can be take it and ancode to anothere format or re-encode to the same format.

This method is used either by DVD Shrink or CloneDVD.
But If I am not wrong. Shrink have better futures.
As long you do not Compress alot; you will not gonna lost much quality.

Note:
Shrink is a Ripper and Transcoder.
Clone DVD is a Trancoder and Burner.
DVD Decrypter is a Ripper and Burner.
You can use one or other Future, or both on the same proyect "almost always" It depends how hard the "Original DVD" can be Rip.

Most of the People that have AnyDVD goes with the Fox/Sheep combo !

If you would/need/want to compress most of us use DVD Shrink, but if you need to compress alot (+10%) then some use Nero Recode it make a better quality job.

The burn Programs: most of them do the same thing on Quality speaking unless you are a Profesional on Video.

But They are so many factors to end up with a great Quality Back-up's:
Origen of the Co. (Equipment/Media use)Who's Make the Movie in the first Place.
DVD Blank Media you are using.
If you have a Old or New PC. (Burner/Optical drives are all Diff).
How many Programs you use and how you make use of them (settings).
Burn Speed (recomend at 8X or less).
Etc, etc.....they are so many factor to mention.

Note: As a last option "Do" wherever works for you to get the job done.

I've been using the AnyDVD/CloneDVD combo for years now, and really don't see a lot of noise or artifacts from video compression even on a 37" LCD TV with 85% or better quality scores on the compression setting. You have the right idea, remove the unwanted stuff, take away the 2 channel sound track (usually the director's comments) and your DVD will look fine.

I have been using AnyDVD/ConeDVD and compressed stuff as low as 45% with no appreciable decrease in quality on a 46" LCD.

That being said, it was XXX Stuff so who knows what I may have missed <G>
