I've downloaded a program called ifoedit and am having difficulty even getting instructions how to proceed with it. It's a little light in the "Help" dept. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance....

What are you trying to do?

Converting DVD NTSC to PAL
My understanding is that a standalone PAL player will play NTSC disks without complaint.
It's north American standalone players that routinely won't play PAL disks that's the problem.

That's good to know. It's a friend's wedding DVD to be sent to relatives in Paraguay. So the NTSC version will play OK for them? I've heard that some players will convert to PAL automatically and I was going to get him to check the make and model number of their player. Guess that's not necessary then, right? Thanks, attar!

I don't know about Paraguay, but I know for a fact (from UK relatives) that their standalone units play burned NTSC (Noth American video standard)disks.

PAL (Phase Alternating Line) introduce in the 60's in Europe with a better resolution that NTSC. Is used on West Europe (excep France), Australia, some Africa, some South America and some Asian countries too.

Versions: PAL B/G (first), PAL 1 (UK) and PAL M.

To convert from NTSC to PAL or Viceversa using: Nero Recode, TMPGEnc Xpress, AviSynth or Pulldown.

Old DVD Players made before 2000 play "ALL" region's and also Pal or NTSC disc's.

Today DVD Players very few (1%) are "ALL" DVD players.
