Yes, I know there are probably a zillion guides for this but you have to trust me when I say I've searched...
I wanna re-do my collection in dual layer so I'm looking in how to burn them. I haven't actually started yet but I wanna make sure I know what I'm doing so I don't waste any of the more expensive dual layer disks.
The programs I use are DVDFab 6 and ImgBurn. Is there anything I have to do differently from how I burn DVDs normally (obviously I don't have to compress them)?

Super great. One question though:
It says DVD-R DL aren't recommended. On the link that's supposed to explain why, I just get assaulted with a lot of scary numbers. So, in english, why?

Yeah, and you get what you pay for.
I don't understand what you mean by "re-do my collection".
Collection of what? I am assuming that you mean a collection of pressed masters.
I'm sure that there will be people horrified by this suggestion, but there is nothing simpler than AnyDVD/CloneDVD.
"Set and Forget".
Now, I'm "grandfathered" so I don't have to pay for updates, but it was well worth the money I spent for the convenience.

Well I have a collection of DVDs all burned onto single layer disks but at a lesser quality. Basically, I just want them to be be top quality, which I believe I need DL disks for.

Do you have access again to all of the masters?
And do you understand that you will need to re-rip from the masters again?
Sorry if this is obvious, but on this forum, I never assume anything.

Definitely buy the lower speed Verbatim +Rs and burn them @2.4Xs for better results. X4 can be done-never have myself. Cheap disc are not good for DLs. I use AnyDVD and ImgBurn to do my rips and burns. ImgBurn doing both rip and burn. It takes a little longer because it's not a one button push. I haven't tried the clone way as yet. I know my way works 100% for my pc and that verb Dls are pricey as coasters, but only thing I would use. The posted guide is great but I would slow it down to 2.4Xs-takes me about 45 minutes to burn a full DL on an NEC Opti7200S, haven tried my NEC OPTI 7240S as yet. JM2C

I will have access to the master through zip.ca. Cheap way to do it.
Also, I order the ones I posted above. Maybe not the absolute best quality, but I'm sure the slight difference will justify the 50 dollar saving.
What difference does burn speed make? Slower burn = better quality?
