Hi there
I'm a bit of a novice to DVD burning so I apologise if I come across as a bit dense.
Anyway, I need to record an ISO onto DVD and I purchases some cheap Verbatim DVD-Rs. I haven't been able to record anything successfully although one time it looked like the recording had completed but the DVD isn't reading when I try to access it. All other discs have failed, mostly with session fixation errors, occasional write errors, once even on simulation, and now the drive seems to just clunk up and stop mid-burn. I am using Nero 7 and the ATAPI drives are set to "DMA when possible" (apart from one virtual drive).
Burner is the Samsung TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552U and firmware now upgraded to US09 with no real difference in performance although upgrades here are from US00 and only since the DVD burning project of mine began.
Is it just bad media or since the drive sometimes has problems reading even CDs from time to time is the drive actually wearing out?
Here's a log of session fixation error but there have been a few errors including an invalid field error (and I can include that log if you want).

That's a good media code.
Quote: Burn process failed at 16x (22,160 KB/s)
Try burning the project with ImgBurn instead of Nero and set the burn speed back to 4x to start.
You can also select 'Test Mode' to save a coaster.

Oh - further information: 1 disc managed complete test and complete real burn although failed to verify sectors 0-2 before I gave up. Image is not appearing as visible in windows and windows stating 0 bytes on disc. I have another image graph so would you like to see them?
Thanks again :)
