DVDFab 6 free version problems

i've had the free version of dvdfab for a long time yet the last time i upgraded it... things are moving slower and it is only backing up some dvd's... i'm getting error messages like... "Media inserted in drive F: is not writable. please insert a blank or erasable media to start the write process" and "media inserted in drive F: is a single layer please insert a double layer media"
i am not good with computers, drives and this program, but if anyone can help me out here... some dvd's are doing fine... i probally just need to do something as simple as pay for the whole thing but when i had the free version 5 this problem never happened to me.

It looks like you're trying to burn a DVD9 (dual layer DVD), but you only have a DVD5 (DVD-R, DVD+R) disc inside the burner. Make sure you compress them into a DVD5 first then have ImgBurn or Nero burn after that.
I believe the free version of DVDFab HD Decrypter is only a ripper, it does not burn/write to DVD. You will need another burning engine like ImgBurn (free) or Nero Burning Rom (Nero Express) to burn the already compress (shrink) VIDEO_TS or ISO file.

@OP,
after ripping the disc to your drive, use DVD Shrink or Nero Recode(if you have Nero) to get the file down to 4.3GB

i'm sure everyone on here is pretty smart with computers... just not my thing, but i appreciate your trying to help.
so i downloaded imgburn, that seemed beyond complicated to me.
i've noticed without buying the dvdfab i cant change the settings to a dvd5, it stays at a dvd9...
i was thinking of buying dual layer discs, and trying those, is that going to work... or is it a waste of money? someone said it wouldn't play in my dvd player...? all this downloading programs has me a little scared of viruses... do you know of an easy free copier just for dvd to dvd that someone like me might be able to use? anyone?

I understand you might be a bit overwhelmed...however, that's because you didn't take 3 minutes to follow a pictured guide or something. ImgBurn for example, does have lots of options, but most you do not use them. And don't worry about viruses, you're not gonna get them from the software suggested in this forum.
Dual layer discs are a waste in my opinion. If you don't mind spending the money, go that route, however, burning a DL is a bit trickier than just a single layer(layer break, drive compatibility...).
Now that you have ImgBurn installed(the burner), install DVD Shrink(will compress the DVD9 to a DVD5), and you're set. Once setup, you will not have to do pretty much anything with ImgBurn, DVD Shrink will open it automatically and do the burn.

thanks everyone...! got it covered...! :)
ya i would probally be more computer knowledgable if i took the time out to read the how to's... but i've got a slow reading comprehension and when i first stare at a bunch of technical words and abreviations... i get frusterated to the point to where i just say screw it... im more of a math girl, but hey i figured it out the easy way and just tried again and again... and turned out i had made a simple mistake... once again thanks everyone for helpin me out :)!
