I tried searching the forums before posting, but I haven't been able to find anything that helps resolve my issue.

My DVD player is having issues playing my converted-burned DVD's. It does not have any problems playing burned DVD's (have tested on several different kinds of discs).

I convert the files using AVI2DVD, and then burn them to disc using ImgBurn, as the supplied guides instruct. My computer recognizes the disc as a DVD and plays it accordingly, including my custom menus. When I put the DVD into my DVD player, it displays an "invalid format" message on 4 out of 5 discs. For the invalids, it will play the audio (ignoring the menu), but offer no image, just the error message.

The fact that 1 out of 5 works correctly makes me think that there's a problem with the video encoding. I learned from another thread that the audio is incorporated into the VIDEO_TS folder, so... I have no clue on what's being done wrong.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'm confused.
What's the difference between 'converted-burned' and 'burned'.

If you are in North America the first thing to check is that the DVD video files (on the disk) are NTSC.
Drag VTS_01_1.VOB off the disk (or the folder on the HDD) onto MediaInfo and check if the files are NTSC or PAL.
North American video is NTSC.

If the video is NTSC and the disk plays on the PC but fails in the standalone player, then try another program (DVD Flick or FAVC both use ImgBurn).

I think that's the issue. I can't believe that it was burning some of these as PAL's. I'm going to test it out now, and I'll know in a few hours.

Thank you!
