This is so strange. This past week all of the movies I've burned are cutting off after about an hour of playing fine. What makes it even more bizarre is that you can fast forward through the entire film without it stopping, it will play the full movie. However, if you try and hit play, the DVD is immediately brought back to the menu page.

I am making the discs in the same exact method that I have used for years.

I download the AVI and then Build and Burn the Img file with Imgburn. I have not deviated from the script one bit.

The same problem has happened on two different types of media.I'm using Verbatim media DVD-R - To be specific, Verbatim 95102 4.7 GB

A bit more info that might help. The movie plays completely fine and all the way through on the PC with Windows Media Player. However, when using the standalone DVD player it cuts off.

Has anyone ever had this problem before? Can you think of why I might be now? Do you think it's just bad media? If so, is there anything I can do about it? Adjustments, slower write speed, etc?

Thanks in advance.

Eddie Dennison

One can't know for sure but I suspect your media. There may be a bad spot. That kind of defect can hit a whole stack if you are way unlucky. Try pulling a disk off the bottom of the spindle and burn that. You can try slowing the burn down. That MIGHT work or cause other problems because you burned to slow but it is worth a shot, right?
