definition of a word? ..
pipped.. as in pipped at the post.. beaten by a short head.. nearly but not quite.
pipped .. alternative to popped.. pipped out to the shop .. related to pip pip! and toodle pip ..
pipped .. deseeded.. to take the pips out.
pipped .. epaulettes of an officer have pips.. therefore are pipped.

Without a reference to "the sentence he used" how the hell are we supposed to guess the context or meaning intended?
I guessed and posted a few.. there are a few other meanings depending on which part of the country you come from.
here you go.. many many uses.. probably confuses the issue even more.. hehehehehe

Even i you didn't understand the context of 'pipped', the giveaway was the fact that i pointed you towards a 'Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs' thread (that was created before yours). Granted the thread i pointed you towards had no workarounds for said movie at that point, but surely you know by now that we only keep one thread open per movie title, we've been doing that for years now...
