Any help would be great. thanks to all.
I assume you have keys for both clone and AnyDVD. Are both up to date. If so and still problem try reinstalling both programs making sure you got both keys before doing so.Redownload both from Slysoft-the programs, not the keys. Sounds like the pc is not letting the ODD finalize the disc. If it's a legit burn AnyDVD will recognize when you pop it in the ODD. Try finalizing one of the ones that won't play in ImgBurn under the options."finalize disc"
I tried all that you said and did not work. Anydvd and Imagburn will not even recognize the dvd after it say it was copied successfully. any Ideas? I really need to get these movies copied by this weekend.

Can you play the movie from the hard drive ? If so ANYDVD did it's job properly.
Can you burn any dvd files to a dvd? I've had burners die in middle of burning a disc. Do you have 2 burners in your computer? It's possible for drive to still read a dvd but, not write.
What brand media are you using? Have you used it successfully before?
Did you reboot the computer after reinstalling programs?
NO i can not play from the hard drive. I only have one burner and it is on my laptop. It is not reading the disk at all. Media i am using is Memorx +R and TDX +R, same as i have used before. yes i rebooted the computer after reinstalling programs. I really need to get these movies copied. Any advice as what to do?
Set clone to out put a file to the hard drive, an ISO and get Imgburn to burn the ISO and watch the end of the burn cycle and see if when it is finished burning, that it goes thru the finalizing disc properly. And watch if anyDVD pops up and goes away after finalizing. like it tries to read disc and there is nothing. I had a similar problem on this pc when I got it. It finally fixed itself or I did. However clone worked to finalize on a external. If your media have worked before then they should not be suspect. Middle tier quality.

I could not do this. I even tried to copy one of the old copied dvds that I had burned a few weeks ago and it did the same thing. It went through the process and said completed successfully but dvd players or the computer would not read, as if it was blank. I had a similar problem with this before but I uninstalled my dvd drive and reinstalled it and it has worked fine until now. I did the same thing again several times but did not help this time. I am Stuck and do not know what to do. HELP oh if it matters my drive is a Pioneer DVDRWDVR-K17B

I tried to go about this a different way. I rip the dvd to my HD then ran FixVTS, Then DVDshrink, Then tried to burn with Imgburn. Everything went good until it tried to verify the disc. It even went through the process of finilizing it but when it started to verify it tried 3 time then said "your drive seems to be having trouble initialising the disc that it has just burnt. Until it can be no software wil be able to access what's on it." when i looked at the log it said failed reason: Incompatible Medium Installed. Nothing i seem to try is working, it always seems to copy and burn dvd fine but somthing goes wrong with the finilizing process or veifying process.

In a hurry, late 2 work but wanted to comment so if u have already tried this or dont like the program just ignore it. I had tons of trouble using any of the other programs and I am not sure what your skill level is but once I swapped to dvdfab6 I have not had any further issues. They are always right on top of the updates . It deems like every 2-3 weeks a handful of new releases fail to properly " backup" IE the copyright protection isn't fully removed or the image file wont make it from start ( removing the protection) all the way down to end "the burn and playing process" successfully.
It sounds like u are advanced as u are using seperate programs instead of the one click programs such as dvdfab. Thats fine if you prefer it but DVDFAB definately handles its business right, and is extremely capable program. However for the sake of my information and help lets assume you have never heard of or used dvdfab or any of the one click backup programs. .It will take you from the full retail dvd9 and remove the protection, shrink to dvd5 ,with one step thus the moniker one click programs ( if u want u can even set it 2 burn to disk at the time ( I believe most people just output it to the hard drive to watch but it was made to burn to disk and the burning program it has built in has NEVER given me an issue.)That makes since seeing as how it is the same program that removed and then shrank the disk to start. You also have a lot of choices on what type of end product you want, such as compressing the full retail dvd9 so u can fit on a regular dvd5. You can leave the ouput as dvd9 ,so u have a perfect quality rtl clone 9. You can split the dvd 9 to two disks so u can fit the full quality 9 onto 2x dvd5's even putting the main animated menu page on both disks 1 and 2. This is handy because when u split it puts all the extras, menu, languages and sub etc plus part of the movie on disk a or disk b ,your choice and then puts the remainder of the movie on the other. Like I said its your choice but by putting the menu on both disks u have the option of putting the subs on thru the menu on both disks. You can also customize and remove what u want and leae what u want. So u can pull of the spanish audio track ,which in turns leaves more room on the disk ,thus a better picture quality. And you can copy the movie only w/o a menu or extras thus resulting in a better picture. It's very user friendly and is fairly fast backing up a full dvd9 in about 12 minutes on my system.
Finally as I stated earlier they update it very quickly . Say a movie is set to come out on the 15th of the month and there are new protections built in to counter act these back-up programs. Well chances are u will never experience it yourself because ,thanks to certain groups of people out there who can get their hands on full dvd9 retail copies 2-3 weeks before storedates, well that gives the programmers time to fix those issues before most end users are able to purchase that retail movie.
Anyhow again my recommendation would be to get the latest dvdfab6 to use. Most of the issues that led people to use multiple programs have been addressed by the dvdfab guys, and only the very very advanced encoders would be picky enough to notice the differences . I believe the wrap the one click programs have are unfounded and stem from big ego's who r trying to make themselves seem as those doing this process is so advanced and hard . Kind of a look at me look how cool I am I can do stuff no one else can) Back to the point though If nothing else u can pick up a copy to have for times like this where something is going on preventing u from getting the job done. If u need anything else feel free to pm me and I can give you more info tailored to your situation.
You should also make sure you have the latest release of any program ur using. Remember movie go to the shelves once a week ,therefor you should be updating all ur programs on the same schedule.

I hate to see it when you had time to post! LMAO Have you even read the previous threads that he has posted and the trouble he is having. He is using excellent programs, something is keep his ODD from finalizing his discs. DVDFab is also a capable program. It doesn't come nearly as close with updates as AnyDVD. I have paid for both programs. As for New Moon it took a total up date to get this right with Fab. And by the way the current version that works for New Moon is 7.025 Get your facts right before you post. It is also not required to update ones programs every week. Rubbish! Neither Fab nor AnyDVD updates weekly anymore. It's not needed and the Shrinking programs rarely update. Even lowly OLD Shrink will still work with AnyDVD or using Fab's ripping ability.
@snuman32
can you borrow an external DVD ODD or an internal to swap out, to make sure it's not your ODD? Can you burn a playable CD with music to see if it will finalize it. Who made your pc and what is the model?

Have you installed any software before your problem started that could be conflicting with something. If so, uninstall said proggy and try burning again. You could be using RW media so you don't make coasters also.
You might also start another thread for this problem since you're having trouble with all DVDs and you might catch someelse's attention that might be able to help you.

Try this:
Is a good chance that your bunner is going Down Hill.
Try a TDK-R or -RW ....and even better a Verbatim -R or -RW.
Then....start with DVDFab 7:
http://72.55.191.8/download/DVDFab7025Beta.exe
Hope this help.

Can you watch this movie on your computer? Does it play normally, no skipping or mess ups. If you can play it, you should at least be able to copy it to your hard drive. Even if your optical drive isn't capable of burning it to a disk. You said earlier you can't watch it from your hard drive. Are you actually keeping a copy on it? I believe CLONEDVD2 will delete it by default unless you UNCHECK the box on the output screen in options, bottom right of screen. I also made new temp folder to find it easier. I like "MOVIE NEW MOON" then they will be alphabetical order on your hard drive and you know its a movie. My preference only, not important, only know where it will be saved.
You said you copied dvds a couple weeks ago fine. You do have a RESTORE program to return your computer back to that time. You would then have to reinstall ANYDVD and CLONEDVD2 and reboot, as all programs after the restore point you select will not exist. And that would be reversible also. Your personal data isn't affected. I have had some programs like "drag to disc" to mess with burning.
AnyDVD and CloneDvd2 are the best in my opinion but, DvdFab still offers 30 day trial so you have nothing to lose. Keep trying you will figure this out, especially with AfterDawn's help. Have read this forum for years and always learn something.

Hard to believe it was the media since it was working with them before. Was this a new stack of media or same one that had been working. At least it is working and Verbatim is top notch medium.

Glad to hear your problem is solved. Same thing happened a couple years ago with me. I bought 4 fifty packs of FugiFilm DVD+R 8X at BestBuy. The first pack every disc I tried would not burn, after 4 or 5 I opened another pack and no problem with last 3 packs. I labeled them BAD and put them on a shelf. Since then I have burned every one of the "BAD" discs without problem, not same burner though. These was Taiyo Yuden ID code T02 back then. I never knew what the problem was. That burner burned hundreds after that too. Glad you went to Verbatim, that is what I use most of the time. Last batch I got at CompUSA in store special at $14.99 for 100 discs 16X-R. They coded out at RitekF1. So far I have burned 200 without single coaster, plays well But, I don't think they use the AZO dye. I hope they will play in ten years.

Nice to hear it !
TDK is a great Brand, but Verbatim is better.....
As the Burner get's old I just downgrade from +R to -R and it works all the time....
and at the last leg of the Burner life....it just burn -RW.
Save your TDK+R for the next time....when you get a new Burner, other PC or an external.
Also keep in mind that Burners are Finicky with diff Media; even of the same brand.
Well...Happy Burning !
