Problems burning DVD's using new drive

I have succesfully used dvdfab to edit dvd's, then burn them using imgburn for a long time. Recently my dvd drive on my laptop broke, so i had a replacement fitted. Now when i burn the new dvd's and try to play them back on my standalone dvd player, each one pauses on the first part and stutters. I have burnt 5 different dvds and each is the same. Can anybody advise me what the problem with the new dvd burner may be, or if there are any settings i need to adjust on any ofthe programs?
