When I was running Windows XP I could burn at 16x with my ide Pioneer 111D. But now in Windows 7 (64bit) I can't get any faster than 7x. I'm using the same discs and I've tried Asampoo, Burnaware Free, and others. The device manager says it's using DMA.

The only thing I can think of is that it is due to the motherboard and OS being set for AHCI because of my SATA drives.

Any ideas appreciated. Thanks.
