I would like to know what the current conversion process is to get the yen to the sterling. I would like the formula for it, For example:

100 yen: 100/10*5
Sterling: £50

So i can get the equivalent amount in any amount of Yen I need.

Online conversion sites just give me the end result and not the process

OK. Using what cyprusrom provided (Thank You) I worked out the formula was GB= Y/10000 * 67 to 3.dp

Y being amount in yen.

and whys everyone complaining about the term "formula" anyway? Its a set of instructions to go though when I input a value. (Regression, Product Moment correlation coefficient?= Formula) or would you rather I say equation? Sum?

One of the definitions of formula:

a group of symbols (as letters and numbers) associated to express facts or data (as the number and kinds of teeth in the jaw) concisely.

The formula for converting yen to Pound Sterling is:

yen x conversion factor = lb. sterling

The formula is a constant, as you pointed out.

What you were asking for is the conversion factor. the conversion factor or rate, varies by the hour on any given currency trading day.

The exception to the rule is currencies that are "pegged" to another countrie's currency, such as the Hong Kong Dollar and the US dollar, which trades at an almost constant 7.7 HKD = 1USD.
