Been a while since I've posted here, but I've always used AD as a resource so here's hoping someone has advice.

Very basically, I'm looking for suggestions on how to set up a database of movies that will auto-print other documents. Sounds odd, I'll try to explain it.
Right now, I use DVDProfiler to keep track of my home movies. It's useful for organizing, and I like the way I can use it to maintain a website. The things I don't like are that it loads slowly, and that I can't print reports the way I want to. Each of my videos is kept in a standard 14 mm DVD case, and I make my own insert. We're not talking a DVD cover here, I use MS word docs with a blurb on the back telling when and where it was shot, and the title centered on the front and sideways on the spine. Nice and simple.

To deal with the issue of loading slowly, I also keep a MS word document with a list of all of my videos (currently up to 47, almost all of the new baby, whoo ) so that I can browse through quickly instead of waiting for DVDProfiler to load up. Each title is numbered and bulleted, and the bullets are hyperlinked to the word documents containing the matching DVD insert for that home video. The insert .docs are macroed to auto-print when they're opened.

This all seems like a really clumsy way to handle this though, and I'm wondering if anyone knows of a better way or a better program to handle this.
Requirements would be to have a main list, searchable, and clickable ability to print a word document.
Example, the way things are set up now.
I'm sitting here, and I want to watch the first time Joseph had ice cream. I open the word document, and ctrl-F ice cream. It takes me to video #35, "February 17: Joseph's First Attempt at Ice Cream - Clean-up In Aisle 3!" I CTRL-click the button at the beginning of that line, and it automatically prints another document containing the DVD insert for that video.

Is there another way to do this? It must use those insert .docs, or at least enable me to create similar things. The reason I can't use DVDprofiler to do this, aside from the slow load times, is that it won't let me write the spine sideways. No image support is necessary, this isn't piracy related, just text.
Right now the way things stand, word sometimes crashes when I click one of the links, or freezes up, I presume from trying to launch multiple instances simultaneously while running macros.
It wouldn't hurt too if there were a way to have a tick box beside each title in the list, so I could tick off say 3 videos, then hit print and have all 3 of those matching insert .docs launched consecutively.
I don't really know what I'm doing when it comes to, well, anything besides MS word. Excel is a foreign language to me, lol. So any suggestions are useful.

Anyone have any ideas?
