OPEN BOX WIFI CONNECTION PROBLEM

I recently purchased via ebay a NEW OPENBOX X3 + OFFICIAL WIFI USB - HDMI CABLE (REPLACE SKYBOX S9 S10 S11 S12)...

I cannot install the wi-fi connection despite repeated attempts.

I have a SAGEMCOM router and have tried to connection via both this and by tethering to my phone connection.

I will try connecting directly to the box via an Ethernet cable but I was looking for any assistance you maybe able to provide.

Could it be as simple as a faulty dongle?
