Hey people! I'm trying to purchase a Swap Magic+Flip Top Slim from Overstock (link is here: http://www.overstockdistributing.com/pro...ge=1#recommend) to play an imported game. At the end, it lists a bunch of PS2 Models, and I'm not sure about the purpose of it. It doesn't explicitly mention a purpose to it (that I saw, I might've missed something) Can I have a second opinion? I don't want to get it only to find out that it's a compatibility list, and my model (SCPH-75001) isn't on there.
And if I missed something, please don't be rude. This is my second time ordering something online (the first was the imported game) and I just don't want to take any chances ^_^

If you have a 75001, you would probably be better off with freemcboot.

Um... what's that? Will it let me play imported games?
(If it matters, it's Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix+)

Yes, it will let you play all games including backups, imports, and even homebrew. It is a modified memory card that the system boots to, from here you can launch games without all the trouble of switching out disks while the motor tries to turn and the clock ticks down. If you or a friend have a means of loading homebrew software (there are lots of ways), you can create a card. Otherwise, you can buy cards online that are pre-programmed, but I'm not going to post any links to that.

If you want to learn more, just search the afterdawn forums. You could also check out sksapps.com, as they have one of the best collections of PS2 homebrew software and tutorials I have seen.

Okay, I'll look into that.
But I'm still curious about whether or not SwapMagic works with my PS2, do you know?

Swapmagic should work fine, and your system already has a fliptop, so you don't even need that...all you need is a couple of pieces of foam-like poster tape to keep the sesors pressed when you open the top.

Personally, I use Swap Magic all the time. I love it, it's easy to use, and I've never come across a problem with it. I believe that it will work on all PS2's (this is just what I'm remembering from when I was looking into it back in the day). I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it works on all models, as long as you have a way to switch discs without using the eject button, and if you've got a flip top box, then it's a cinch, and looks nice too. I actually modded my box myself lol, it looks ridicules and my power and reset button are lying to the right of my system attached by only a ribbon cable, but it works for me!

once bread becomes toast it can never go back

I'd say heck with the flip top and heck with the swap magic discs. Use Cogswap loader and make a slide card yourself. You'll save tons of money and it's basically the exact same thing. That's how I played my copy of Kingdom Hearts!

EDIT: That's after you've installed a memory card exploit, of course :)
