Can't get Winhiip to recognize HD

I have a 120gb Maxtor hd in a USB enclosure. I am going to remove it and instal in my ps2. Problem is I cant get winhiip to recognize the drive to format it. I have a new computer that doesnt have any IDE connections or I would try it that way. New to this so I would be grateful for any help.

I had this problem once, what I did to fix it was actually put it in PS2 open HD Loader and format it there then take it down and winhiip should recognise it and then just format it in the way you want 28 bit 48 bit HD loader or Toxic OS etc.

However also make sure that you have installed the USB Driver from the enclosure.
