ok so everybody listin up so lets say you have Free MC boot on you ps2 memory card ok and in order to use ESR you need a patched ESR game RIGHT ok!!!! well i wanted to run ESR with out paching any games beacuse i have hellllla backed up ps2 games and i dint want to copy them all again ... so i burnd one Patched ESR game to see if it whould realy workon my ps2 and it did.. but still i dint want to have to patch each game to use ESR so this is what i did ..
1 Burn a patched ESR game
2 put it in your ps2
3 swap it out with a diffrent burned game of your choice that is not ESR patched
4 and then have fun and play

Are you sure will this really work? i mean example (i got a swap magic DVD iso and then ill patch it with ESR! then ill boot it and then swap my NONE patch DVD game.... will it really work without patching every one of my BACK-UP games? ^_^

You can just use SM 3.8 ELF for those games you don't want too patch.
It just requires you to have an Original PS2 DVD in tray, like GTA San Andreas when you start up the PS2.
Or you could use cogswap.elf, again just requires you to swap a disc.
I have never tried swapping a unpatched disc for an esr disc.
You would have to make sure your sensors are blocked on a slim ps2 or use a slide tool, fliptop on a FAT
I will have to check this out and see if it works.
Ok I am not sure what your settings for fmcb configurator are, but for me the disc did not quit spinning when I start up fmcb.
So in order to play a non-patched disc, I started uLe from the Sony Browser, then went to 'Filebrowser', then 'misc', and selected 'ps2 disc'
It then launched the non-patched backup.
So exactly what is your method and set up?

ok the reson i wanted to try this is beacsue i have sanandreas but in wount boot some of my games like rock band ,etc,
so if you want to boot all your games with out promblems follow this ..
1 burn 1 ESR patched game on to a DVD+R
2 put the ESR burn disc in the ps2 and let it load to the Esr Loading SCreen
3 Then swap the ESR pacthed game with a NON patched game and press x ..
4 BAMMM there you go the colors will flash and your back up should load.
iv done this with like 10 games so a far and never had a problem so dont go out and buy that swap magic crap do what i did ill try to make a video as soon as i can thanks for chrcing out the add

Ok but the problem with that is your disc is still spinning at the ESR screen.
Mine does not stay there very long.
I think its much easier too just use the SM 3.8 ELF to load the unpatched backups.
It is still only a swap and doesn't take long.

i know the disc will keep on spinning but what im saying is that sanandreas wont boot like big games guitar hero mettalice but with esr it will

Yes this works. I did mention this back when FMBC and ESR first came out. This can also be done with a large DVD.
However it was disputed by some that did not read
This works on BOTH fat and slim PS2's But, I don't think it works with all versions. My PS2 Version 10 suddenly stopped reading discs when using ESR (anything) But works fine with original game disc.
The setup is simple:
To stop the disc from spinning, you simply set disc control to ON.
The disc will stop after it reads ESR patch or DVD, then you swap out the Patched game or DVD for the non patched Game

I remember you posting that, but at the time you said DVD movies, not esr patched backup games.
As for discs to stop spinning I know that to go through uLe with disc control to 'on'
That is how I also get all my PS1 games to play on my slim.
That is what I just told sharp4123, how I followed his method, but going through uLe.
He is not mentioning that in his tutorial at all. He is just saying to swap discs while they spin.
As for playing larger TOC games, then just use a DL backup, then swap
