Hi First of all i know that theres other threads on here about this but they are old and no one probably looks at them anymore. second of all I'm hoping this post doesnt break any rules but I see other posts about doing this for other games but I couldnt find one about Driv3r. Im trying to extract the soundtrack and the sound effects and anything else cool from the PS2 game Driv3r (Driver 3) but I'm faced with about 5-6 files on the disc with a single large file on the disc named DRIVER3.IMG. I am trying to open this file and view its contents. windows shows it as a psudoarchive or something. the file is 3-4 gigs in size and can be found on the PS2 version of Driv3r. All I want to do is listen to the music and sound effects like the sound zones like in istanbul the singing churches and the disco club from Driv3r on my iPod w/o resorting to recording via the line out cables b/c I don't do game music that way. I have found a program called Game extractor but that program is unable to open the archive, it says no plugins exist for this archive so if anyone has that plugin or a link to one that would be awesome. any help that you can provide will be most useful and thank you very much I appreciate you taking the time to read this.
I am attaching a picture of what I see when I put the game disc into my PC I hope this works.
This above pic is what I see when I put the Driv3r DVD into my PC.
and This above pic is whats in the Modules Folder, just a bunch of IRX files. I hope these work and dont take up a lot of space or bandwidth I cut them down so they load quick.
hi there, i havent got the game for my PS2 but ive used MFAudio on loads of games and helped quite a few ppl who have emailed me for help. its usually the largest file on the DVD but bot always. so what are the file Sized of the other files on the DVD so as to rule out that you have the wrong file.

I use MFAudio I love that program, I wish most programs out there worked like this program you just DL it somewhere and then run it simple enough
The File sizes of the other files are:
File: Size Type
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Modules 472KB File Folder
(File Folder, the one with all of the IRX files inside, See "Modules Folder Contents" Below.)
DRIVER3.IMG 4,007,416 KB(3.82GB) IMG File This is what I'm trying to open to get at the games resources.
Sounds, Music, Movies Etc.
SLUS_205.87 2,848 KB 87 File
Possibly Disc Image name. disc name is the same in explorer but w/o the . and on the game box and Disc itself.
SYSTEM 1KB SpeedDial
(Shows up as CPU with shortcut icon)
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Modules Folder contents:
Bunch of IRX files as seen below.
File: Size: Type:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
DBCMAN.IRX (16KB) IRX File
DS2O.IRX (11KB) IRX File
IOPRP280.IMG (264KB) IMG file <-- this might be what I need to open the DRIVER3.IMG file, when opened using notepad it shows a bunch of code. some words are intelligible but the rest is garbled code.
thats all of them. I hope this is enough detail for you as there are no other files on this disc than these. im thinking that the IOPRP280.IMG file might be used to tell the PS2 how to open the DRIVER3.IMG file but I dont know, im not a programmer I just want the stuff inside it thats all. I tried dragon unpacker but it said it needed a file to open that or something but I dunno ill mess around with it some more maybe ill stick that other IMG file where I have the driver3 img file and try it again and see what happens.
Thanks Again.

P.S. as for the copy of Driv3r on PS2 go to game stop or EBgames in the mall and get it used thats how I got mine. or buy ot online whichever you choose.
Thanks once more lol.
EDIT: Ive made this easier to understand by organizing the files, file sizes and groups so its more like windows explorer. next time I will just post a pic if ok.
okay then, that means its fairly certain the soundtrack is in DRIVER3.IMG. so what was MFAudios take on the DRIVER3.IMG file? Did you play about with it and use the suggested interleave etc? since its a big file its probably the soundtrack isint the only thing in the file. you'll have to use the offset value to move around the file and run it through MFAudio then. alternatly i had a similar problem with burnout revenge. however i was able to get the soundtrack very easily off of the PSP game Burnout Legends on my modded PSP. i wouldent know but there might be another version for a different console that will be easier to rip the sound from. ill get an image of the game online and look into it further.

I think i've tried MFAudio and all I heard was garbled and screeching noise. what is the suggested interleave? chances are the audio isnt right there in the beginning of the file as it is an archive and not an audio file like the MUSIC.WAD files in the tony hawk games. I have tried that on other game archives but all I heard was screeching audio and nothing that sounded like music.
EDIT: I just tried what you suggested and it screeches for like 5 seconds then it just loops a part over and over again. all settings ive tried give me the same results. nothing sounds like music so it is a real archive with a folder tree structure possibly but again I havent heard any music or talking just screeching.
Pls help thx.
