My Slim PS2 with modded Modbo 4 (Matrix Infinity BIOS) is having trouble with PSX games. Basically they either black screen or it just comes up with the red screen telling you to put in a PS or PS2 disk. I don't have a PSX memory card yet, but I'd guess my PS2 should be able to play them anyway (just not save games).

Otherwise I burn them fine (using ImgBurn, 4x speed, I've tried bin/cue, iso and mdf image styles), and the CDs are able to play on ePSXe fine (as well as the images themselves).

May it be the SX point connection? I didn't mod it myself, I used a service, do you think they may have not connected to the SX point? And if so, should I possibly send it back or can I do it myself (never done soldering before so it is probably very risky)?
