I got a new PS2 Slim with Matrix Infinity 1.93 chip and I'm trying to play games online . Every time I try to go online it tells me that there isn't a network cable connected even though there is . I don't have a router or a modem in my house , my connection is straight from my provider's router . And I have patched the games with DNAS codes and I have made the network connection settings file . The same games have ran just fine online on my previous PS2 but they can't on my new one. Also I don't have a problem playing online on my PS3 or PC , only on my new PS2.
How can I fix this ?

How did you make your network connection settings file?
Your PS2 must have recognized the network cable in order to create the file in the first place.
Try running the setup disc or setup from the game you are playing again and see if it recognizes the cable.
If it does then it should recognize it again when you go to play online.

I made my settings file with the setup from the game disc . When I create the online settings file it makes a network connection test and passes it without a problem . Also I have no problem playing FIFA 08 and Socom CA online , i get this error only when trying to play Battlefield 2: Modern Combat , Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Call of Duty 3 .

Ok well that explains it more. YOu can connect online, just not with those three games.
I really can't say why you would get that error when playing just those threee.
Is there an actual error code you are recieving? or just tells you there is no network cable.

There is no error code, it just tells me "No network cable connected please check your nerwork cables and try again" . The servers of these 3 games are not down so that isn't the problem .

Yeah that I know, cause I checked already. Maybe try turning your Modem off/on again, or try disconnecting cable, then inserting it again
I am really not sure what the problem could be otherwise.
I only have Call of Duty 3 from the three games you list. I will try it later as I have played Socom CA online before also.

A friend told me it can be from the chip's firmware . Where can I download the 1.99 firmware because I can't find it on google ?

On the startup screen it tells me the chip is 1.93 but the guy I bought the ps2 from told me it is 1.99 . Is the chip a hacked up clone and can the problem be from it ?

Yes, thats what the post from psx-scene forums says. Matrix went out of business until lately with the Wii, and the last firmware they ever put out was 1.93
The Original Matrix is 1.93, the 1.99 firmware or so they call it is just a hacked up clone
So not sure if you have problems because of that or just your network cable.
