HELLO.... I HAVE A PROBLEM IN MY PS2... (SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH) I CLEANED MY CONSOLE THIS MORNING SO I DISASSEMBLE IT, AFTER I CLEAN IT AND PUT IT BACK AND SWITCH IT ON, MY DVD GAMES THAT I WAS PLAYING EVERYDAY WONT READ IT... IT GOES TO THE RED SCREEN "PLEASE INSERT PLAYSTATION 2 FORMAT DISC". I DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED.. MY LENS IS STILL WORKING AND IT IS IN GOOD CONDITION..
This happed to my freind he ended up buying a brand new PS2 it probaly because the laser broke or as smokeyrain said you missed something when puting it back togeter
oh sorry for typing in capital letters,.. about the ps2 i have a friend that knows a little about ps2 lens and he said my lens on ps2 is very active, i mean there's no problem in my lens, (he's basis is when i reset or turn on the unit it's still have red light that will blink..) i dont know about the wires because we checked it that too but we din't found anything... i mean it's all intact. (but im going to double check it to make it sure..) the last thing that i did is when my ps2 can't read disc that time, i disassembled it again then i flipped and pressed the film near the lens after that i tested it again and it work when i put back the casing and test it again it wont read again so i disassembled it again then flipped pressed that film again but nothing happen anymore... and i observed that the cd stops spinning before it goes to red screen.. (hope you can help me on this problem and i apologize for my bad english..) hope to receive your reply soon....

I answered your pm, but also how did you burn the CD or DVD that you are trying to play or is it Original Discs you are having this trouble with.
The problem is the PS2 is not recognizing the type of disc you are inserting.
