PS1 Backup shows half of screen

Whenever I try to make a backup of Digimon World 1, a downloaded version as my original don't work at all anymore. The screen is only half like there is a big black rectangle at the top and then the game screen starts and most of the screen isn't visible. I was wondering if there was some way to fix this or not. It does it with Digimon World 2 as well. Any ideas?

I can only throw out suggestions on this one. First try a different booting method, i've had the same game work differently under different boot conditions (ESR w/patched ISO, cogswap w/o patched ISO). Next try burning on higher quality media, at slowest speed possible. If both of those don't work, you might want to search for a better rip. Hopefully there is another ISO floating around out there that was ripped with more care.
