Try turning the system off for about an hour and then booting the disk. If this works, you know that your laser is about to die.

well in your other post you wondered if your PS2 was modded.

So it must be if you got uLe to run.

You also posted you have a SCPH-90004, which is fairly new.

Not good if the laser went already, or its overheating. Or whoever modded it, made some error when installing it.

Is it still happening? What messages do you get? Disk read error, etc.

Is it just noises that you are hearing?

Does it happen with Original Discs or only backup disc.

Ok lets move on too how are you burning this backup.

What brand of disc , what program you burned with and speed you burned it at.

If it reads when cold, but not when hot, the laser is going bad. Given that it is a newer unit, this probably indicates that there is an inperfection in the laser lense. You could try using good quality media, burned at 4x speed to try to get the most out of the laser that you have. You can also buy new laser lenses...but they have to be soldered in & configured.

The PS2 laser lens is not soldered in.

It only needs to have the anti-static points desoldered, or you can have your retailer do it for you.

Configured yes, but that is not hard. Also for the slim PS2, the laser lens is not expensive, unlike the FAT PS2.

You can change the PCB on them if you wish, and that does require desoldering and soldering, if one is so inclined.

Most average users just buy the replacement laser lens.

I would just burn the uLe 4.39 ISO DVD then and try it

http://psx-scene.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=15126&d=1232649924

I know i use the DVD ISO all the time.

DATA Life CD not the best to use for PS2 anyway.
If you do burn CD, use Verbatim CD-R or other 1St class media

Verbatim CD-R is about the best too use. If you can't get them, then try Sony CD-R

Having a good burner and good media makes all the difference.

New DVD burners aren't expensive anymore. So when you can you should upgrade.

I would also burn it too CD-R using either Nero or imgburn at 16x speed as its a CD image you are burning not a DVD ISO image.
