I've got some friends, who would like me to find some games for them (they don't tend to use the internet much) - for their Playstation 2s.
First, it seems as though they are, but are Playstation 2s region coded for games?
By that, I mean to ask... can you purchase a North American version of a game and play it on a Playstation 2 bought in Europe?
Also, where can I find older Playstation 2 games - in PAL format?
One that I've been asked to find is "Airborne Troops" ("Airborne Troops: Countdown to D-Day" in North America). I don't even know where to start, as it doesn't appear to show up on google or ebay searches.
So PAL games won't work on a NTSCPS2 and vice versa.
The way around this is a modchip or Swap Magic. And for Swap Magic or fmcb 1.8/esr I still find you need to backup the game first using imgburn, then play the burned copy.
You can try ebay, amazon, Play-asia, or checkout your ebgames/gamestop stores.
