I'm having hard time getting Mana Khemia 2 work with USBAdvance.
Here is the story so far:
I have a working DVD-version of Mana Khemia 2, but because my playstation's discdrive is dying, I'm moving my games to usb.
I checked the game compability list and it said that Mana Khemia 2 is compatible with USBAdvance. Advice was to patch the game with USBUtil.
So I opened USBUtil 2.0 and selected "Create game from ISO" option. Then it asked where I would like to create the game and would I like to patch the game. I put cross on IOPRP. Then came the window where one chooses the patches. There was only IOPRP310, so I highlighted it and chose "patch". The game was done and I put it on my usb pendrive (Cruzer 16GB) to test it.
I went to USBAdvance and Mana Khemia 2 appeared on the games list. I booted it and made a quick test. Everything seemed to work fine. Start menu, synthesis, dungeons, battles.. all worked. Then I made a new version with the same method, except that it was patched with ntsc to pal with y-fix (my television supports only 50hz you see). I tested it and everything seemed fine there too.
Then I really started playing it. Everything went flawlessy for about 10 minutes. Then it crashed. Black screen and background musics on. "I wonder if this is because of the PAL-patch". So I tried the original one. Same problem there. It happens when you have played for about 10 minutes and exit the screen. It should move to the next screen, but the screen stays dark and the background music goes on and on.
"Well... Maybe this is because the pendrive isn't exactly a USBHD". So I loaned my friends USBHD. Still the same problem.
I've got many other games work (Tales of Abyss, Ar Tonelico, Growlancer Generations). So I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. Should I use USBUtil's manual config on ISO and but the IOPRP310 as active or something?
If someone has got this game to work he could make a step-by-step guide. Please?
*sigh* such a long post. I hope a right person will read this.
