Will a ps3 40gb hdd work in a fat ps2??

Hi guys,

my brother is thinking about upgrading his ps3 from a 40gb to a 200gb hdd. He said I can have his 40gb hdd.

Does anyone know if a official ps3 40gb hdd will work and fit into a ps2. I own a fat ps2 and a network adapter. Will I need a HD loader/advance? I'm not to fussed about coping games on to the HDD, I'm more interested in backing up my save data as I own 4 memory cards and they're running out of space and I don't want to buy anymore memory cards.

nope,ps3 hard drives are the same type you would find in laptops,ps2 hard drives are the type you would find in a pc if you wanna back up your memory cards you could get an usb memory card adaptor and put all of um on your pc.
