I have an old Camcorder that i have used on my travel. I now want to save all the old tape to my computer harddrive. Is there a software that I can use to save it to my computer and comvert it to Matroska or AVI?

If it is a MiniDV, you can download WindDV (free) and save all the tapes to your HD as AVI files.

USB is for pictures.
Firewire is for Videos.
