[Question] How do I play burned dvds (data discs with .avi files) on my modded xbox after this?

I have not had any problems burning data discs with my laptop (Vista 32-bit) and playing them on my xbox. Then I bought a desktop PC (Vista 64-bit) and then the problems began.

What I did to get to this point:
-Tried to burn a data disc and regular DVD titles with many different programs with the exact same settings as my laptop
-Used a portable dvd burner on both laptop and desktop. When used with the laptop, the disc was readable in the xbox. So it isn't the burners.

After several trials I've determined the problem to be my desktop PC, some setting somewhere.

Can anybody solve this for me? (the people in Yahoo Answers aren't very bright)
