FTPing Xbox with a particular setup...

Heya guys.

I have a softmodded Xbox, UnleashX dashboard using Krayzie's ndure installer.

I need help FTPing.

I dunno if my current network cable is a straight-through or crossover, but I use it for XBL on 360, PSN, and to stream media to either.

My PC is Vista 32-bit.

I have one NIC and connect to the internet via a USB cable modem.

Currently have tried to FTP by connecting the network from Xbox to NIC and changing the IP settings of the NIC card as shown in the many tutorials, along with the settings on the Xbox itself of course.

I have yet to be successful, and the Xbox constantly shows 'No Link', the light on ethernet port hasn't turned on either, and the PC doesn't detect anything connected to the NIC.

This is the second Xbox I have tried, both do the same thing.

What am I doing wrong, or am I just screwed?
