I'll try to explain as good as possible but if anything information is needed on my part please let me know and I will supply it immediately. Ok here it goes.

I just received 2 hand me down original xbox's. Both of them are not in a working state but I do know the exact problem with each. Though my searching for the answer proved some ok results, i'm just not sure where to go with it. First I will tell you about the consoles, than the results.

1. This console is in great working condition except the friend I got it from tried to do a hotswap mod and erased the hdd without getting the password. How I don't know but he did it. So I would like to be able to read the Eeprom off of this xbox.

2. This xbox cuts on for 3 seconds than shuts off. When looking at the board I seen the exact spot of the problem. The traces are very tiny but there is damage to them. Not sure if it would be easier to repair it or to get eeprom from 1st one

My Results: I have a x2.3b lite+ solderless with no switch. When I apply it to the consoles I get either 2 or 3 lights depending on the mode it's in (1.0 - 1.1, etc). I was wondering if there was anyway to use my x2.3b Lite+ to retrieve eeprom without having a switch connected to the x2.3b wires. there are just 5 wires hanging from the x2.3b. I think I could just solder these wires to switches and create my own switch. I also could make a homemade tool to retrieve the key. I have a bunch of choices but again i'm not sure where to go. I would like to know what is the easiest way to get a working xbox out of these 2. Please help.
