Guys,

MAKE SURE YOU CHECK YOUR PROVIDERS WEBSITE FIRST BEFORE POSTING AS THAT IS YOUR FIRST PORT OF CALL
MAKE SURE YOUR ROUTER IS TURNED OFF AND ALSO YOUR BOX AND TURN BACK ON
MAKE SURE YOUR HOMEPLUGS ARE ON AND WORKING
MAKE SURE YOUR CABLES ARE ALL IN GOOD ORDER AND CONNECTED CORRECTLY
ANS LAST AND BY NO MEANS LEAST - IF YOU NOT PAYING A MIN SUB FROM YOUR PROVIDER FOR TV, DON'T EXPECT YOUR SIGNAL TO BE EXCELLENT

Just a note on the new type lan boxs, some folk think this is the same as before, it aint, you need to realize and factor in some variables that the old boxs havent had to contend with.

The old boxs were plug and play, something happened or didnt work, it was either your box or the provider having some issue. With the new breed of Lan box, the goalposts have changed. If your box is having issue's or missing some chans, you need to factor in the new part of the puzzle, the Net.

As you know, the box relys on this part to work or nowt works, simple as,

so if you service goes down, no chans, your homeplugs have probs, no chans, the provider cable or net service goes awary, no chans, your provider is doing work in your area, no chans, your router has a bad day, no chans

As you can see there is a lot more in the mix now than before, this is the way it will be going forward and its a pinch of salt you will have to take, if you are getting 95% of chans on any day, be happy with it, it will come back, there is not a lot that can be done, if all the above are not in sync, your going to have a problem

You will be here everyday as long as you have one of these boxs asking the same questions, day after day, if you dont take the above in a realize this is the lay of the land.

Signal needs to be at least 75/80% any higher you are also going to have problems also be aware that each split on your cable is costing you % ie 1 split == 50% so the more ya have the less signal your box is getting and also include your broadband in this if you get broadband from your cable supplier.

no worries, its just to make folk aware that its not the same as before and that they need to fully understand what needs to work for your chans to be clear and perfect and also highlight what can and does go wrong,

Some folk knee jerk when they are missing one chan, live with it, thats they way its going to be going forward and no matter how many times they post about it aint gonna bring it back, some people have an OCD complex when the are missing a chan, even if its not one they actually watch!!!

This is the state of play using these boxs, take the good with the bad, but once they eliminate that its not their router, cables, homeplugs not causing it, to many poeple relying on members here to wipe their noses for them and tell them the basics like turn the router on or off etc etc, you want to use the box, learn whats involved for em to work,

signal is to low, as per above, it needs to be about 70 to 80 percent lower and your gonna lose chans or get break up, higher and it will cause issues

Are are you paying for your service? a min sub from your provider? if not this will cause it as your not getting a full signal for the TV. If you are, this is down to either poor cabling or low signal from the provider themselves, you need to check or replace your cables if they are damaged, loose etc, a cable thats not sealed or crimped correctly will reduce your signal, if you are using splitters this will cause it also, so its a matter of elimination, check all cables and remove splitters firstly, if this works, then thats yer prob,

If not, then its your signal coming in, as above, if you are paying for a min sub from them, ring them and complain, if not then thats the cause of the signal prob
