Smashed up about 15 of them and put them in a skip only a few weeks ago, had them in the for sale section for months.

As far as i can remember, comes up with the first normal screen, then goes into some kind of loop. Tried the null modem but no joy.

If the Avia chip is fried it can go into a boot loop, do you see any Green/Pink screens?

As said above could be a hardware fault. Did you use IFA and if so what did the logs say? If it is looped then it may be a hardware issue.

Tried IFA.
Cant remember exactly what the log said, but it kept repeating itself.

Without looking at your bootlog it looks like the front processor is gone. I would sell it on for parts, but that's your call ;)
