Beginners guide to flashing box super usb only &latest firmware

I am having trouble with my Box Super USB I have just bought. I installed the Beta bin file which went fine. The problem is when I do an automatic scan for channels (NTL) it doesn't pick up any channels. The cable is perfect and has no splitters.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Menu > Factory reset - pin is 0000
Choose english
Autoscan on your provider
Menu > 1570
Set Default key > ok
Turn keycode on
Exit to channels
Also make sure the coaxial cable is in cable input at the back of the box & scart is in the TV slot & secure.

Everything is secure as far as cables go. I've moved from the dbox 2 to this new Super USB Starview. It goes from 1 to 28 and then straight to a manual scan page. My problem seems to be anything other than cable issues

as noley said make sure your cable is going into the cable input, its the 1 furthest away from the scart lead, also if a manual scan comes up try it that way instead
it should look like this for n*l
150000
6887
64
enabled
and at the bottom or your screen
you should see level 60-70% quality 99%
if you dont see level & quality % up then you are on wrong provider
or you have no life in your cable eg: cut or disconected
or cable could have been down at the time due to on going work.
1 more thing did you follow my tutorial exactly?

Everything is fine now. I thought the antenna input was used for the cable like the previous Super box. Thanks all the same.

is the shared file for the starview usb 3 or the starview usb 4 any differance ,whats the best box to buy

there is only 1 type of starview usb, and its the starview 4 usb its the newest 1 that they have out, the box super 3 wont work if you are in dublin, and the best box to buy depends on where you live
as there are different types of boxes for different cable poviders #
dvb/c box for use with n*l cable and n*l mmds with aerial on roof.
dvb/t box for use with c****s mmds aerial on roof.
dvb/s box for use with sat dish.
what area are you in? and i can help you with what type of box you need.

im in waterford and was wondering as well could you recommend a good site to get a box and what kinda box would suit as the area i live in does nt have the underground cbles yet just the aerial form the roof ?

MMDS in the Waterford region is provided by N** so the Kryptview would be a choice.

Hi Hooter. Thanks it was great to find this layed out in plain english. Unfortunatlly I still managed to f... it up!
I followed the download to a file (200907291102)
When I went into USB on the box it came up with
CH Data Backup....no file
Code Backup This one seemed to load.
When I went back to scan It only scanned 44 chanels but only picked up a few. Any help would be much appreciated

when you put code data back on i think you put the data that was already on your memory stick
try it again but this time erase everything of your memory stick and follow the instructions exact as it says and dont forget to do a factory reset again before you start
if you dont get anywhere this time get back to me, :)
ps: the file you download is called (Thebox Super USB_BETA new) and that should be the 1 you download onto your memorystick and put on your box from your stick.

Thanks but still having trouble. When I downloaded the file a box came up saying (the file format is invalid or unsupported)then the box with the file said (total 0 KB) tryed it on the box anyway but came up saying no file.Am using windows Vista.

Hi guys im very green to this but im thinking about getting a starvew box as i have ch**rs n*l cable comming into my house any help on the best one to get? Any help with this would be great.Oh and i live in the south in cork .

it can be done with vista but im not sure what way you do it,if you ask on one of the other threads some1 with a vista should be able to guide ya,
do you know anybody with an xp laptop/computer?

you can get a j.tag to bring your box back to life or sort your 8882
before you even go down that road get back on to who you got your box of and see if they will replace it??

Hi Guys... I flashed a box super a couple of weeks ago and got the invalid box notice.....The box is definitely not a clone...(no heatsink) is there any way back from this flash....anybody

I am unsure the earlier models has a similar molex type Max232 and Jtag interface to the clone boxes from a physical point of view on the main board. So they share similarities and probably a lot more, so when the firmware runs its checks it thinks they are clone boxes.
